iCan Bike Camp - Session 5 (Day 4)
Got sneakers and a passion for helping children? Then come volunteer at iCan Bike Camp. This camp helps to teach individuals with a range of disabilities, ages 8 and up, how to ride conventional two-wheel bikes. Volunteers will be paired up with individuals for the week long camp to provide not only assistance while learning to ride (walking/jogging/running alongside them) but to also provide encouragement, support and friendly smiles. If you can volunteer more then one day this week, that would be great. The kids flourish with consistent helpers. Please note that you must sign up for each individual day on the website (example, June 22nd, session 5 then again June 23rd, session 5 an so on). If you can only volunteer one day, that's super too. Please note that Autism Charlotte staff will provide a training session on Sunday, June 21st at The Drury Inn and Suites Northlake (6920 Northlake Mall Drive, Charlotte) 6:30-8:00 for volunteers to attend. This will provide information about the camp and tips for working with individuals with disabilities. Please feel free to contact me, Wendy Welch at gwelch2@carolina.rr.com with questions. Thanks so much for being the hands and feet of Jesus.
