12 Hours of Christmas

Volunteer to share a fun-filled magical Christmas with kids! 12 Hours of Christmas is an event that allows Least of These Carolinas the opportunity to provide Christmas for over 400 children in foster/kinship care and families in need of assistance for the holiday. Volunteers are needed with family check-in, runners, guides, stocking area, care-giver gift area, security, parking, volunteer appreciation room and children’s rooms. Once you sign-up, you will receive an email from Least of These with detailed information about your volunteer time. Food and drinks will be provided to volunteers by Least of These. What makes the event special and unique is that the children have their entire wish lists purchased by sponsors from the community. LOT encourages the families to save the gifts they receive for Christmas morning! During 12 Hours of Christmas, there is a nativity scene and the Christmas story being read, games, and an area for children to pick out gifts for their parent or guardian. After all the gifts are wrapped and put away and the children have played, they all enjoy a family meal. What a fun filled magical day for the children to enjoy and be in a happy place. The mission of Least of These Carolinas is to identify and service the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children and their caregivers, with the primary focus on children in foster care in Gaston County, through a community effort of local churches, businesses, and caring citizens; applying the Biblical principle of helping those in need to glorify God. The vision of Least of These Carolinas is to invest in programs that grant children in foster and kinship care the right to survival, protection, development, participation and hope. Due to the sensitive and confidential nature of the clients and children being served, Least of These and social services requests no children under 18 or still in high school to volunteer for this event. The event will be held in the child care center of First Free Will Baptist Church at 2316 Union Rd. Gastonia, NC 28054. Parking is available on site.
